Tuungane is Swahili for Unity
In collaboration with HEAL Africa, Little Feet Projects is supporting a program started over a year ago for children at risk in seven centres (Ndosho Masisi Centre, Kibirizi, Kisharo, Sake, Walikale and Kanybayonga) as part of a larger program which aims to prevent domestic and sexual violence as well as to offer assistance for victims. HEAL Africa has already trained 60 counselors who work at the safe houses with women who have survived sexual violence and torture. Based of the safe houses, the program, L’espace des enfants, reaches out to street children providing them with learning activities, a safe place to play, counseling.
